All of our lessons and courses are now delivered ONLINE (some with the option of mixed face-to-face and online), and we are happy to report that our students have overwhelmingly given our virtual classrooms a big thumbs up. We have been able to replicate everything online that we could do in face-to-face classrooms, and as a consequence, we have twice been voted the best online course in the teachers and students groups and have won prizes for our original teaching materials. This is because all of our materials are tailor-made for each individual student, catering for the student’s specific needs. Our lessons include speaking practice, writing exercises, authentic reading materials, audio, videos, grammar exercises, vocabulary games, pronunciation exercises, and a huge variety of other things, and students are given a wide range of self-study materials so that they can continue learning and recap lessons in between classes.
Each student is unique and works at their own pace in their own way, and here at SB English Language Courses we celebrate and support their differences.
Join one of our friendly, effective English courses
All courses include speaking, writing, grammar, vocabulary, reading, listening, games, interactive exercises, video, audio, and pronunciation, and are delivered in an effective and fun way, and you can ask our lovely teachers questions at any point. Each lesson comes with the option of homework and self-study materials created specifically for you.
GENERAL ENGLISH:
One-to-one lessons: are available as 30 minutes, 40 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, and 120 minutes.
Buddy lessons: couples or friends at a similar level of English can take our buddy lessons. These are usually 60 minutes, but we also provide different length lessons.
Groups (3-10 students): the duration depends on the number of students. Please ask us for more information.
Chatterbox Sessions: these are CONVERSATION sessions talking to a fully qualified teacher, where you can learn new idioms, sayings, and phrases, and practise your English speaking skills. You choose the topic, or you can ask the teacher to. Just turn up and start talking!

BUSINESS ENGLISH:
BUSINESS ENGLISH IS ONE OF OUR AREAS OF EXPERTISE with extra qualifications and experience in this area. Our Business English courses come in all shapes and sizes and our prices depend on the number of students, the duration of the lessons, and the length of the course.
IELTS EXAM PREPARATION COURSE:
This course is to help prepare students for the kind of tasks they will have to take in the IELTS exam. The course will help you understand and prepare for the way IELTS is set out and help you learn the kind of language and structure you need for the exam, whether for the ACADEMIC IELTS or GENERAL TRAINING IELTS.

SPECIAL COURSES:
Pronunciation Course: Pronunciation is a complex physical process that requires separate and different teaching skills from language teaching. What each student needs to learn depends on their native language and must be tailored individually. At SB English Language Courses we are fully qualified in teaching pronunciation techniques and physicality.
5-hour course or 10-hour course
How to Use Articles in English - Intensive Course to learn the rules for using 'the', 'a' 'an' or 'zero article'. Articles in English appear straightforward, but they are definitely NOT, and even our advanced students can have difficulty with the correct use of articles. This 5-lesson course with extra homework, quizzes, games, fill-in-the-blanks exercises, and many other materials, will help you learn when and how to use articles in English. And you'll have fun doing it!
The course runs for 5 x one-hour lessons.
OTHER SPECIAL COURSES, such as Academic English and English for Specific Purposes are also available. Please ask us for further details.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
The standard cancellation policy of 48 hours' notice applies to all lessons. We will try to accommodate one lesson per block of five being changed to a different date, but this will depend on the teacher's availability. Students are responsible for ensuring their own online connection.
Our English Language Teachers
Sheena Brabazon (MA) is a fully qualified English teacher with over 40 years of teaching experience who loves her job. She has several teaching qualifications and specialises in teaching General English and Pronunciation. She trains young teachers in all aspects of teaching from grammar to lesson structure, in General English as well as in Business English and Academic English.
She has taught classes and courses at every level of English to all age groups and people from everywhere around the world, helping thousands of students pass exams, communicate better in a business environment, or simply improve their English because of their love of the language.
Having lived in several different countries, she now speaks fluent German, good Italian, can get by in French and Spanish, and frequently falls over her own tongue in Danish – so she understands the highs and lows of language learning from a student’s perspective as well as from a teacher’s. Sheena enjoys creating a friendly, relaxed atmosphere in her lessons and encourages students to ask questions. She also encourages them to laugh, because learning a language is fun.
Sheena occasionally calls in other teachers to help out with high demand. These teachers are all qualified, experienced and friendly.
